Wolverine and the X-men

A colleague of mine and I started this project roughly this week. We had plans to do something else, but it didn't follow through. We're aiming to do the introduction to Wolverine and the X-men in 3D. If you're unfamiliar with said trailer, you can view it here:

Currently we're in the process of modeling the main characters: Wolverine, Cyclops, Beast, Shadowcat, Storm, Emma Frost, Nightcrawler, and Iceman. We're using two different applications: 3DS Max and Lightwave 3D. Currently, I'm not sure of which application to use for animation, rigging, lighting, and/or texturing. I would prefer to use Maya, but when we set up shop to actively seek animators and the following, we'll have to cater to what application the majority will be using.

It isn't original, but the idea is to catch someone's attention. If done right, it can be rather successful and possibly open up doors.

  1. I think the idea to display what you guys can do (via, modeling, texturing, rendering, lighting etc) is cool. But coping a intro shot for shot I don't recommend. Any original characters or stories that you guys would be willing to develop and create.

  2. Well the idea is to take the 2D show and realize it in 3D. We aren't claiming anything as all of these properties belong to Marvel. We're simply just taking it upon ourselves to see what one of these cartoon shows may be able to look like with the 3rd axis thrown into it. Again, that idea is to catch someone's attention. Its pretty much for fun, too!
